Point Heating
Point heating keeps railway points free of snow and ice. Heatpoint uses different heating methods , depending on prevailing weather conditions and existing infrastructure . These include gas heating ( infrared radiation ), electric heating ( resistance strip elements ) and liquid heating ( using a CH boiler or groundheat).
All these systems are energy - saving and have reasonable life - cycle costs , partly because they are operated by a microprocessor, weather station and a computer with user-friendly software.
