Training at Heatpoint
Two Successful Training Days on Switch Heating!
Over the past two weeks, we proudly hosted two training sessions for our external colleagues from Strukton Rail , focused on working with Heatpoint’s electric switch heating systems.
The goal? Deepening knowledge, sharpening skills, and being even better prepared for the winter season — together.
Theory
- Structure of the switch heating installation
- Explanation of monitoring & control via Bluepoint Online and directly on the control cabinet
- Understanding the electrical schematic
- WVAK and switch configuration
Practice
- Control cabinet and switch configuration using Heatpoint’s test setup
- Performing measurements on the switch heating system
- Maintenance and measurements in real-life scenarios
A great combination of theory and hands-on practice, with plenty of space for questions and sharing experiences.

Point Heating
Point heating keeps railway points free of snow and ice. Heatpoint uses different heating methods, depending on prevailing weather conditions and existing infrastructure. These include gas heating (infrared radiation), electric heating (resistance strip elements) and liquid heating (using a CH boiler or ground heat).
