Our colleague Marco took these photo's last weekend of our pointheating system in action.
With a layer of cold and snow, it immediately becomes clear what the system is designed for: heating the track switch so that snow and ice can’t block it, allowing trains to keep running.
Great to see in practice, especially in these wintery conditions!

Point heating keeps railway points free of snow and ice. Heatpoint uses different heating methods, depending on prevailing weather conditions and existing infrastructure. These include gas heating (infrared radiation), electric heating (resistance strip elements) and liquid heating (using a CH boiler or ground heat).

The MAX cable duct is a robust and highly durable duct which Heatpoint designed specifically for railways. These ducts protect vulnerable cables and pipes from vandalism and other forms of abuse or heavy loads.
