Point
heating:
Point heating keeps railway points free of snow and ice. Heatpoint uses
different heating methods, depending on prevailing weather conditions and
existing infrastructure. These include gas heating (infrared radiation),
electric heating (resistance strip elements) and liquid heating (using a CH
boiler or ground heat).
All these
systems are energy-saving and have reasonable life-cycle costs, partly because
they are operated by a microprocessor, weather station and a computer with
user-friendly software.
